－What You Can Expect－
Jehwangsan Mountain resembles a sitting white-haired man, thus the nickname “White-Haired Man Mountain”. It is located inside the Jehwangsan Park known for its 365 “Year Steps”. In spring, both sides of steps are filled with cherry blossoms. From top of the hill, a cherry-blossom-covered Jinhae and blue sea can be seen. The combination of deep blue, pink, and white is a must-see!
Gyeonghwa Station, famous for beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, is a small railway station in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. The station is neighbored by Seongjusa Station to the north and Jinhae Station to the south. Railway services in and out of Gyeonghwa Station have been discontinued as of 2006. Visitors can walk through the tracks surrounded by rows of cherry blossom trees, making a tunnel of flowers. Along with Anmingogae Road and Yeojwacheon Bridge, Gyeonghwa Station is one of the top three cherry blossom photo spots in Jinhae. The area featured in Korean movies and dramas such as the film “Boy Goes to Heaven (2005)” and drama “Spring Waltz (2006).
The Yeojwacheon Stream area is well known as one of Jinhae’s best spots for viewing the famous cherry flower blossoms. It is also the location of the bridge where the two leading characters (Gwanu and Chaewon) of ‘Romance’, MBC’s TV series, first met as tourists who came to Jinhae to watch the Naval Port Festival. After the episode was aired, the bridge instantly became popular and widely known as the ‘Romance Bridge’. Each April the whole city of Jinhae is filled with cherry blossoms, but the Yeojwa Stream area has the most beautiful cherry blossom which makes it a prime tourist attraction.
