  Ranked among Japan’s most beautiful waterfalls, Shiraito Falls features a 150-meter-wide cascade fed by spring water from the volcano. The thin white streams resemble hanging threads of silk, inspiring its name, which means “white thread” in Japanese. It takes about 6 years for the water to reach the falls from the top of the mountain, offering a glimpse into the past. In case of inclement weather preventing a visit to Shiraito Falls, the tour will proceed to Kumano Emperor Grand Shrine instead. Every autumn, the surrounding trees transform into shades of red and gold, enhancing the allure of the falls for travelers. Estimated foliage period: mid-October to late November.

• 8:00 am: Depart from the meeting point
• Shiraito Falls (20 minutes)
• Kumoba Pond (30 minutes)
• Old Karuizawa Ginza Street and St. Paul’s Catholic Church (90 minutes)
• Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza (Outlet mall) (90 minutes)
• Head back to Shinjuku
• 6:00 pm: Arrive at Shinjuku
