• Yuki no Otani Walk (16th April to 24th June)

Tateyama Murodo, located at the highest point on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route at an altitude of 2,450m, is one of the heaviest snowfall areas in the world! “Otani” near Murodo has a particularly heavy snowfall, and its depth can exceed 20 meters. In the winter, it is covered with snow and is impassable, but as spring approaches, by using snowplows, which takes about two months to create an impressive wall of snow.

• Floodgate of Kurobe Dam (25th June – 14th October)

• World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go

In 1995, it was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site along with Toyama Prefecture and Gokayama as the “Shirakawa-go Gokayama Gassho-zukuri Village,” and you can still feel the original Japanese landscape. It is called “gassho-zukuri” because the shape of the roof resembles the shape of hands when the hands are clasped together, and the roof is characterized by a steep slope of 45 to 60 degrees to prevent snow from accumulating.
