Travel north to Morocco's capital, Rabat, which is recognized as a UNESCO site for its impressive white architecture. Explore the city, starting with a trip to the Chellah Necropolis, where you can wander through Roman and Islamic ruins. Continue to the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum of Mohamed V, an abandoned 12th-century project that features the minaret of an incomplete mosque and some 200 columns. Step back in time through an ornate doorway to the Kasbah des Oudaïas, the heart of the original city center, where you'll find spice-scented souks and the city's oldest mosque. Finish with a break from the crowds at the Andalusian Gardens, where paths lead through exotic flower gardens and fruit tree groves reminiscent of Spain's Alhambra Gardens. Our second Stop stop will be the charming seaside town of Asilah. Unlike much of Morocco, Chefchaouen was once under Spanish rule, which is reflected in its Andalusian-style architecture and vibrant cultural influences. • 09:00 TRANSFER TO FES VIA VOLUBILIS AND MEKNES : This morning, travel south to Morocco’s cultural heart, Fes. Along the way, stop to explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 3rd century. Stroll through its impressive remains—once a thriving Amazigh (Berber) city—and admire the mosaic-adorned villas, temples, and public buildings while learning about its role in shaping Morocco’s earliest dynasty. Next, continue to the nearby imperial city of Meknes for lunch, then take a leisurely walk through its lively medina and Ville Impériale. Discover historic landmarks such as sultan tombs, palaces, Roman vestiges, and the vast underground prison complex. Be sure to visit the Dar Jamaï, a splendid 19th-century palace built in 1882. Follow your guide through the maze of bustling souks brimming with handmade crafts, rugs, jewellery, and leather goods, and wander along the lively main street of Talâa Kebira, where stalls overflow with colourful spices, dried fruits, and local delicacies. Travel across the 7,146-foot (2,178 m) Col du Zad Pass, winding through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Keep an eye out for the playful Barbary macaque monkeys before stopping in Midelt—known as the “Apple City”—for lunch. Continue your drive over the Tizi n’Talghemt Pass into the lush Ziz Valley, a landscape dotted with palm groves and hidden oases.
