— Attraction Highlights —

  • Kiyomizu-dera Temple (Approx. 120-150 minutes)
Named after the Otowanotaki Falls, believed to have healing properties, Kiyomizu-dera is one of Kyoto’s most famous temples. A highlight is Jishu Shrine, dedicated to the deity of love and matchmaking, where visitors can test their luck by walking between the Love Stones with their eyes closed. The Sannenzaka Path, a historic 200-meter street leading to the temple, is lined with traditional Kyoto-style shops perfect for exploring. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, the temple offers breathtaking panoramic views of Kyoto, attracting visitors year-round, especially during cherry blossom season, autumn foliage, and lush greenery periods.
  • Tenryu-ji Temple, Arashiyama
A must-visit in Arashiyama, Tenryu-ji Temple is renowned for its beautifully landscaped traditional Japanese gardens, which have been designated as a national historic site. Each season transforms the scenery—cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, vibrant maple leaves in autumn, and peaceful snow-covered landscapes in winter. Inside, the Dharma Hall features a striking ceiling painting of a dragon, whose eyes seem to follow visitors from every angle.
  • Arashiyama
One of Kyoto’s most scenic districts, Arashiyama is a popular filming location for historical dramas and home to the famous Togetsukyo Bridge, which spans 200 meters across the Katsura River. While restored with a steel frame, the bridge maintains its original 17th-century aesthetic, offering a glimpse into Kyoto’s past. The surrounding landscape, with its cherry blossoms in spring and colorful foliage in autumn, creates a timeless atmosphere perfect for a relaxing stroll.
  • Sagano Romantic Train (Approx. 25 minutes)
This nostalgic sightseeing train takes passengers on a scenic 25-minute journey through the breathtaking Hozugawa Gorge. The route, once part of the Sanin Line, has been transformed into a heritage railway, offering stunning views of Arashiyama’s natural beauty in every season. The vintage-style carriages and retro seating enhance the old-fashioned charm, making it feel like stepping back in time. Before leaving, don’t miss a photo opportunity with the retired diesel locomotive at the station.
